On the morning of September 12, 2025, Dennis Recker, age 81 and male, was found mortally wounded inside a patient's room at the Preston Health Center, a skilled-care facility within the Cypress of Hilton Head community on Birdsong Way in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
