In the early hours of a Monday morning in Lower Brule, South Dakota, the life of 23-year-old Native American male Teron Sazue was tragically cut short by gun violence on August 11, 2025. Another young man, Tayshawn Battese, also lost his life in the fatal shooting, which occurred near an old boat ramp following a powwow.
