A hiker goes missing; found strangled to death
Shari Lynn Roth, a 22-year-old woman, was found murdered near Sawyer Pond in Bartlett, New Hampshire, on August 24, 1977. She had set off for a solo hike in the White Mountain National Forest on August 21 and was reported missing later that evening when she did not return home. Her body was discovered three days later, near the Sawyer Brook Trail.
