Clara Richards, 74, a Black woman from Lillington, North Carolina, died on August 12, 2025, after being shot at a family home on Kentucky Derby Lane in the Trotter’s Ridge neighborhood. Deputies were called just after 5:15 p.m. when a 10-year-old inside the house dialed 911.
