Jermaine “Trey” James was a Black/African American male, age 18. In the early hours of Sunday, June 8, 2025, gunfire erupted on Interstate 10 westbound between the Gonzales and Prairieville exits in Ascension Parish. Three young people riding together were struck as shots came from a second vehicle that sped away.
