On a Monday morning in Odenton, Maryland, the life of 45-year-old Monyette Marie Stephenson was tragically cut short in a violent act that ended a troubled chapter of her life. On June 16, 2025, at approximately 10:13 a.m., Anne Arundel County Police were called to the Smith Bus Service on Bucklina Avenue, where they discovered Monyette suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the immediate response from emergency medical personnel, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation quickly zeroed in on a suspect familiar to Monyette and her colleagues. Surveillance footage from the bus depot, where she was an employee, captured the shocking incident and identified the shooter as her 48-year-old estranged husband, Trimall Stephenson, who also worked for the company. Following the shooting, Trimall Stephenson fled the state, sparking a multi-state investigation. Law enforcement tracked him to a rest stop in Hamilton, New Jersey. As New Jersey State Police troopers closed in on his vehicle, Trimall turned the gun on himself, ending his own life.
