On September 14, 1979, Daniel Carpenter, a 38-year-old man, was found dead in his home in Pleasant Valley, located near Carriage Drive in Reno, Nevada. The scene raised many questions, as narcotics and paraphernalia were discovered inside the residence. A witness reported seeing a man at Carpenter's home around the time of the murder, adding a crucial lead to the investigation.
