Contrail Boone, a 24-year-old Black male from Chicago, was fatally shot on the night of May 17, 2025. He was found wounded near 147th Street and Evers Avenue in the south suburb of Dolton, close to the Dolton Park District’s Lester Long Fieldhouse. Responding officers discovered two gunshot victims; Boone’s injuries proved fatal. He was transported and pronounced dead at 9:43 p.m. at UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, and the Cook County medical examiner ruled his death a ...
