William Alridge, a 41-year-old Black man from Lancaster, was found in the early hours of May 25, 2025, after deputies responded to a missing-person call around 1:50 a.m. on the 44000 block of Beech Avenue, just west of Sierra Highway. Investigators encountered a large box truck/U-Haul leaving the area; when they looked inside, they discovered the 41-year-old man in an open trash bin in the cargo area. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives traced the call to the Shadow Park Inn on Sierra Highway and reviewed security footage before stopping the truck. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner later identified the victim as William Alridge, age 41, and determined he had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, with the manner of death ruled a homicide; records for the 41-year-old male list gunshot wounds to the torso.
Reports in the following days clarified the spelling of the 41-year-old male victim's name in various outlets and confirmed he was a Lancaster resident. Coverage noted that he was found inside a trash bin in the rear of the truck and that he died at the scene after sustaining several gunshot wounds.
Deputies detained multiple people for questioning in the aftermath, but authorities did not immediately announce any arrests or identify suspects. As the investigation continued, officials asked anyone with information to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide Bureau.
