On February 28, 2011, Parrish Broughton, a 20-year-old resident of San Francisco, was found shot inside a vehicle near the intersection of Diamond Heights Boulevard and Gold Mine Drive. Police officers were called to the scene at around 1:15 p.m., where they discovered Broughton suffering from gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead. The circumstances surrounding the shooting were unclear, and authorities launched an investigation to determine the motive and identify those responsible.
