Edgar Arroyo, 30, a Hispanic/Latino male, was fatally shot on the night of August 2, 2025, in Chicago’s Brighton Park neighborhood. He and a 57-year-old man were standing outside in the 3000 block of West 37th Place around 9 p.m. when a white car pulled up and three men got out with guns and opened fire. Arroyo was struck in the shoulder and lower back, taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, and later died; the second victim was also hospitalized in serious condition.
