Joshua Monugian, a 34-year-old male of Latino ethnicity, was shot and killed just before dawn on July 13, 2025, on a quiet residential stretch of the 14800 block of Steprock Drive in La Mirada, California. According to investigators, the trouble began as a dispute between a man and a woman; when Joshua Monugian and another man stepped in to break it up, a vehicle pulled alongside them.
