Jason Holt, 44, a male from Chicago, was standing near a sidewalk just after 1 p.m. on September 9, 2025, in the 2500 block of East 79th Street in the South Shore neighborhood when three people approached him. At least one of them opened fire, striking him multiple times before the group fled.
