Do you know who murdered Peter Inge? In the early morning hours of Saturday, March 22, 2003, a tragedy unfolded in Las Vegas that claimed the life of 28-year-old Peter Inge, an African-American male. Peter and his older brother, Christopher Inge, 31, were fatally shot in the parking lot of the Heritage Lounge, located in the Nucleus Plaza on West Owens Avenue. The grim discovery was made by Metro Police officers at approximately 2:30 a.m.
Upon their arrival, authorities found one of the brothers inside a car, while the
other lay just outside the vehicle. Both had succumbed to gunshot wounds. The Heritage Lounge, the backdrop for this double homicide, had a history of violence, with at least two other killings having occurred there in the preceding years. The violent deaths of the Inge brothers added another dark chapter to the location's past.
Witnesses at the scene provided investigators with a limited description of a vehicle believed to be connected to the shooting. They reported seeing an older model Lincoln, light gray over dark gray, leaving the area shortly after the incident. The car was said to have temporary paper license plates. Despite the presence of numerous people in the vicinity at the time of the shooting, many were either unwilling to provide a statement to the police or claimed to have not seen anything of significance.
In the years that have passed since the deaths of Peter and Christopher Inge, their case has remained unsolved. No arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department continues to list the case in their unsolved homicides section, holding out hope that someone with information will eventually come forward to bring closure to the family of the two slain brothers. Peter, who worked as an electrician, and Christopher, a construction laborer, were residents of Las Vegas for 15 years. They were survived by their mother, a brother, a sister, and their respective children.
