On May 25, 2004, 49-year-old Steven Allmaras, a casino executive, was brutally murdered in his home in Spring Valley, Nevada. Allmaras, who had worked as a slot manager at the Virgin River Hotel in Mesquite, had returned home after a typical workday. While his wife and children were out watching a movie, someone entered the house and attacked him, resulting in fatal stab wounds and blunt-force trauma.
