Melvin Victor, 30, a Black male from North Miami Beach, stepped into his birthday just after midnight on August 20, 2025. Within the hour, gunfire tore through the courtyard and parking lot of an apartment complex near Northeast 169th Street and 20th Avenue, shattering car windows and leaving shell casings scattered across the asphalt. First responders tried to save him, but Melvin Victor, 30, was rushed to a hospital and pronounced dead, the celebration over almost as soon as it began.
