In the late evening of September 23, 2025, a dispute that began over a woman on social media tragically escalated, culminating in the death of 9-month-old Aziah McDougle, a female, in Cobb County, Georgia. The infant was caught in the crossfire of a shootout in the parking lot of the Budgetel Inn & Suites on Circle 75 Parkway. Her mother's frantic call to 911 around 8 p.m. brought police to the scene, but Aziah was pronounced dead there.
The investigation revealed that Ladarrius Tremelle Brown, 22, and Jayvian Len Young, 23, had engaged in a heated argument online and agreed to meet at the hotel for a gunfight. The confrontation turned deadly when nearly two dozen rounds were fired, and a bullet from Young's gun struck the infant in the head. In the chaotic aftermath, witnesses reported suspects running inside the hotel, robbing someone of their clothes to change their appearance, and then fleeing the scene.
Within days, authorities began making arrests. Brown was the first to be taken into custody, followed by Young and Camron Harris, 23. Two more men, Noah Martin, 22, and Anthony Smith, 22, were arrested shortly after. A sixth individual, Nateemah Ware, was later charged with hindering the apprehension of Young and Smith by hiding them in her apartment.
A Cobb County grand jury indicted all six individuals in connection with the shooting. Brown, Martin, and Young faced the most severe charges, including two counts of felony murder and aggravated assault. Harris and Smith were indicted on charges of tampering with evidence, with Harris also facing a charge of making a false statement.
