On May 28, 2006, Tina Marie Robles, a 41-year-old woman, was among the hundreds gathered in the 500 block of Frederick Avenue, enjoying the festivities of Memorial Day weekend. Tragically, the celebration turned into a scene of mass hysteria when multiple gunshots rang out, fired into the large crowd.
In the ensuing chaos, numerous people were struck by the
gunfire. Robles was severely injured and rushed to the University Medical Center's Trauma Unit, where she succumbed to her wounds later that evening. She was a respected carpentry store supervisor and a beloved family woman, survived by her husband and four children. Two other individuals, Gemar Samuel and Steven Beck, also lost their lives in the senseless attack, while five others were wounded.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's homicide detectives immediately launched an intensive investigation. They cordoned off the entire block, collecting evidence and interviewing dozens of witnesses who were present at the chaotic scene. Despite their efforts and the numerous people in attendance, the suspects managed to escape unidentified in the pandemonium that followed the shooting. To date, no arrests have been made in the case, and the identities of those responsible for the deaths of Tina Marie Robles and the other victims remain unknown.
