Frank Zavala, a 25-year-old Latino man from Bellflower, was shot and killed on the night of Monday, August 18, 2025.
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Lakewood Station were dispatched at approximately 9:15–9:16 p.m. to the 14000 block of Bellflower Boulevard, where they found him near T. Mayne Thompson Park, across from St. John Bosco High School.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
