Death by Force

Kamico Boykin, 23, a Black woman, was shot in the early morning hours of August 22, 2025, in a residential part of Compton. Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded at about 2:45 a.m. to the 2100 block of North Kalsman Avenue, near Centennial High School, where they found evidence of a shooting and learned the victim had been taken for treatment. She was transported to St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood, where she was formally pronounced dead that Friday.
