Myung Chun, 69, a female of Asian descent, was found fatally shot inside a gated home on the Palos Verdes Peninsula on August 23, 2025. Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department were called at about 10:20–10:30 a.m. to the 100 block of Crest Road East after a woman reported discovering her sister and father dead in the residence. As deputies cleared the home, they found a second woman—identified as Myung—also deceased.
Early findings pointed to a domestic-violence-related murder-suicide within the household, with authorities emphasizing there was no broader threat to the community.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner later identified the three deceased as 69-year-old Myung Chun, 40-year-old Christine Chun, and 70-year-old Seh Chun. Medical records and reporting indicate Myung died by a gunshot wound to the head and was classified a homicide victim. Christine’s death was likewise ruled a homicide by gunshot, while Seh/She Chun’s death was recorded as a suicide, the combination aligning with investigators’ initial murder-suicide assessment.
According to initial statements relayed by news outlets citing the sheriff’s department, the caller—another daughter—had entered the home and found her father and sister dead before deputies discovered Myung elsewhere inside the residence. The chronology and location details, along with the coroner’s determinations, led investigators to treat Seh/She Chun as the apparent shooter who died at the scene, leaving no outstanding suspect and no indication of danger beyond the family home.
Public records of gun-violence incidents and memorial listings corroborate the date, city, and nature of the event in Rolling Hills on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, reflecting two homicide victims and one suicide at the same address.
