Christine Chun, 40, female, Asian, was found dead on August 23, 2025, inside a family home in the city of Rolling Hills on the Palos Verdes Peninsula in Los Angeles County. Deputies from the Lomita Sheriff’s Station were called around 10:20 a.m. after a woman reported discovering her sister and father dead; during a search of the residence, investigators found a second woman who had also been killed.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner later identified the victims as Christine Chun, her father Myung Chun, 69, and her mother Seh Chun, 70. The medical examiner determined that all three sustained gunshot wounds to the head, with Christine’s death classified as a homicide.
Authorities described the case as a domestic violence–related murder-suicide and emphasized there was no threat to the broader community. Public reporting tied to the coroner’s records indicated that the older male in the household died by suicide while Christine and her mother were homicide victims, consistent with the preliminary findings shared by sheriff’s investigators in the hours after the shootings.
The killings occurred in the 100 block of Crest Road East in Rolling Hills, a gated community on the peninsula. In the immediate aftermath, investigators asked anyone with information to contact the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau, but there were no indications of outstanding suspects. No arrests were made; the working conclusion from investigators and coroner records was that the gunman was among the deceased.
