Tijae Timothy Boykins, 28, male, Black/African American, was fatally shot on the night of September 15, 2025, in the Vermont–Slauson neighborhood of South Los Angeles. Los Angeles Police Department officers from the 77th Street Division responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon near Figueroa Street and Slauson Avenue, where Boykins was found gravely wounded. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner later classified the manner of death as homicide and the cause as multiple gunshot wounds.
The shooting unfolded close to the intersection of Slauson and Figueroa, with emergency calls coming in around 10:30–11:30 p.m. Accounts from on-scene reporting describe officers initiating CPR before paramedics took over care and rushed Boykins for treatment.
