On the evening of August 12, 2025, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of a Gilbert, Arizona, extended stay hotel. When police arrived at the scene near Country Club Drive and Guadalupe Road, they discovered 39-year-old Jessica Brewer with gunshot wounds. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but ultimately succumbed to her injuries. The incident began to unfold just before 6 p.m. as multiple people dialed 911 to report the sound of gunshots erupting in the motel's parking lot.
