On the morning of August 14, 2018, St. Louis police discovered two sisters deceased inside their St. Louis, Missouri residence. Among them was 55‑year‑old Ruth Portegee, a female victim whose full identity was confirmed by authorities. The other was her sister, Loretta Portegee, aged 49. Ruth Portegee, a female, had sustained what appeared to be a gunshot wound when her body was found.
