Her death was part of a disturbing string of killings that shook the community and drew regional law enforcement attention. Diane Carter’s mutilated remains were discovered on April 4, 1965, alongside the bodies of two other victims: 37-year-old Mary Jones and 60-year-old Amelia Boyer.
