In the winter of 1979, a horrific crime cut short the life of 11-month-old Jessica Madison in Adrian, Michigan. The infant girl died of smoke inhalation in a house fire deliberately set to conceal a brutal double murder. Her mother, 24-year-old Yolanda Torres Madison, and a friend, 19-year-old Theresa Carey, were both beaten and shot to death inside the home before the fire was started.
