Anthony Guy Walker, a man already serving a life sentence for other violent crimes, became the central figure in the resolution of several cold cases that had plagued the region. Walker, a career criminal with a history of sexual assaults and homicides, had been active between 1975 and 1986. During a plea hearing in 2010 for his involvement in a separate triple homicide, Walker confessed to a string of murders, bringing a shocking end to the long-standing mystery of Arleen's fate.
As part of his plea agreement, Anthony Guy Walker admitted to the murder of Arleen Salcedo. His confession was one of several, as he also claimed responsibility for the deaths of Yolanda Torres Madison, Theresa Carey, and 10-month-old Jessica Madison, in addition to the contract killing of Floyd Beatty and a murder orchestrated while in prison.
