Mary Pauquette, a 72-year-old African-American woman, was brutally murdered on September 11, 1983, in Los Angeles, California. She was one of several elderly women targeted in a series of violent crimes that terrorized the East Hollywood-Silverlake area during the early 1980s. Pauquette lived alone, a factor that made her particularly vulnerable to the predator who would later be identified as Brandon Tholmer.
