On the morning of January 18, 1990, the body of a 23-year-old white female, Darla Jane Ferguson, was discovered in a remote area east of Interstate 15 in Lake Elsinore, California. A jogger stumbled upon her half-nude remains, prompting an immediate investigation. Darla Ferguson, who was known to law enforcement as a sex worker, had been brutally murdered.
