In a central Las Vegas valley neighborhood on a Friday afternoon, an argument between two men escalated into a fatal shooting. The victim was identified as Jean Richard Paul, a 45-year-old Black male from Henderson, who succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds on August 27, 2010.
The altercation occurred in front of an apartment complex on the 1000 block of Silverman Way, near H Street and Owens Avenue. Shortly before 3 p.m., Las Vegas police received a report of a man being shot.
Witnesses reported seeing the two men arguing before the gunman opened fire, striking Paul several times.
Following the shooting, the suspect, described as a Black man in his 30s wearing a bright yellow shirt, was seen fleeing the scene. He reportedly ran behind a building across the street and has remained at large. Law enforcement officials have not publicly identified the suspect or announced any arrests in connection with the case. The motive for the argument and subsequent shooting has not been released.
