On December 23, 2010, the life of 33-year-old Kevin Dontrell Lamar, an African-American male, was cut tragically short in Las Vegas, Nevada. The afternoon was pierced by the sound of multiple gunshots emanating from an apartment complex on Nellis Oasis Lane. When police responded to the scene, they discovered Lamar unresponsive on the ground, having sustained several gunshot wounds.
Investigators determined that Lamar, who was also known by the moniker "Cash," was inside his apartment
when he answered a knock at his door. Upon opening it, he was shot multiple times. Witnesses at the apartment complex reported seeing two African-American males fleeing from Lamar's apartment immediately after the shooting. The men were seen getting into a waiting vehicle before disappearing.
In the course of their investigation, homicide detectives learned that Lamar was known to sell narcotics from his residence. Despite this lead and the witness accounts of the two men leaving the scene, no suspects have been publicly identified or arrested in connection with the murder. The case remains an unsolved homicide, one of many in the city, with law enforcement continuing to seek information from the public that might lead to a resolution and bring justice for Kevin Lamar.
