On a cold morning, November 26, 1986, the gruesome discovery of the remains of Jack Franklin Andrews, a 26-year-old Caucasian male, unfolded at a rest stop off Route 8 in Litchfield, Connecticut. A truck driver from Meriden happened upon the mutilated body, which had been wrapped in garbage bags and quilts and was partially buried in a snowbank. The brutality of the crime was immediately apparent to investigators.
