Regina Kay Walters, a 14-year-old White female from Pasadena, Texas, was tragically murdered in 1990 by serial killer Robert Ben Rhoades, also known as the "Truck Stop Killer." Regina had run away from home with her 18-year-old boyfriend, Ricky Lee Jones, in early February 1990, intending to hitchhike to Mexico. However, their journey took a horrifying turn when they encountered Rhoades, a long-haul trucker with a history of violent crimes.
Shortly after picking up the teenage couple,
Rhoades shot and killed Ricky Lee Jones, leaving his body in a ditch. He then abducted Regina Kay Walters, holding her captive for several weeks in the sleeper cabin of his truck, which he had converted into a mobile torture chamber. During her captivity, Rhoades subjected her to psychological and physical torment, including shaving her hair and pubic area, piercing her with fishing hooks, and forcing her to wear specific clothing while he photographed her in distress.
