In the early morning hours of June 9, 1984, a young man named Hank Gafforio vanished from his Staten Island neighborhood, leaving behind a mystery that would endure for decades. The 22-year-old white male, who was known to have a low IQ and functioned at the emotional and mental level of a 15-year-old, had been out for a night of drinking.
