Paulus Cornelius “Dutch” Smit, a 57-year-old male of Dutch ethnicity, tragically lost his life on December 30, 2011, in Yorba Linda, California. His body was discovered outside a local library, where a candlelit memorial was later set up in his honor. The circumstances surrounding his death were particularly alarming, as he was one of three victims in a series of fatal stabbings that occurred in North Orange County during December 2011.
