On the evening of March 14, 1996, 29-year-old Cindy Michelle Marzano left her job after her 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. shift, with plans to meet an acquaintance, Karl Lee Myers. The two had spoken twice while she was at work and had arranged to meet for coffee afterward. She was seen with a man, presumed to be Myers, at a Denny's restaurant for about thirty minutes after she clocked out at 9:09 p.m. This would be the last time she was seen alive.
