On September 29, 1982, 12-year-old Mary Kellerman, a Caucasian female from Schaumburg, Illinois, woke up feeling unwell. She complained of a sore throat and a runny nose, prompting her parents to give her an Extra-Strength Tylenol capsule to ease her discomfort.
