Kellie Barnett, a 50-year-old woman from New Lenox, Illinois, tragically lost her life on Christmas morning, December 25, 2024, in Schaumburg, Illinois. She was fatally shot by her brother-in-law, Daniel Garcia, 52, who mistook her for an intruder inside his home. Barnett had been staying overnight with relatives for the holiday when the incident occurred.
