In the early morning hours of Saturday, July 19, 2014, the body of 34-year-old Hispanic female Maricela Faurrieta-Suarez was discovered on a street in a quiet Las Vegas neighborhood. A passerby spotted her just before 6 a.m. in the 1200 block of Fairchild Street, near Brookman Elementary School, and alerted the authorities. When Las Vegas Metropolitan Police arrived at the scene, they found Faurrieta-Suarez had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
