On February 8, 1993, Kenneth Murle "Doc" Atchison, a 57-year-old white male from Overland, Missouri, was murdered during a vehicle transaction at the home of Gary Muehlberg in the Bel-Ridge neighborhood of northern St. Louis. Atchison had arrived with $6,000 in cash to purchase a used Cadillac from Muehlberg. After the meeting, Atchison was reported missing.
