Kim Wildman, a 38-year-old woman who was tragically killed in Missouri City, Texas, on April 17, 1990. She made a desperate 911 call, reporting that she had been stabbed multiple times in her home. When police arrived, they found her nude body on the kitchen floor. Investigators determined that the attacker had entered through an unlocked window while she was likely asleep.
Despite her injuries, she managed to reach the kitchen phone and call for help before succumbing to her wounds.
For years, the case remained unsolved, with only DNA evidence linking the unknown perpetrator to the crime. In 2006, authorities finally arrested Edward George McGregor, a former UPS driver who lived just two houses away from Wildman at the time of the murder. McGregor, who was 17 years old when the crime occurred, was connected to the killing through DNA evidence. He was also suspected in two other unsolved murders in Houston. Investigators discovered that his DNA matched samples from Wildman's case, leading to his arrest while he was driving his UPS truck in southwest Houston.
McGregor was later convicted of multiple murders and sentenced to life imprisonment. His arrest brought long-awaited closure to Missouri City police, who had pursued justice for Wildman for nearly two decades. The case highlighted the importance of DNA evidence in solving cold cases and ensuring that perpetrators are held accountable for their crimes.
