Gaétan Ethier, a 45-year-old white Canadian man, was murdered on March 31, 1991, in Montreal, Quebec. At the time, Ethier had invited Michael Wayne McGray, a man he had met in Montreal's Gay Village, back to his apartment. Unbeknownst to Ethier, McGray was a convicted killer who had been granted a three-day weekend pass from prison.
