In the fall of 2014, a tragic story unfolded in Las Vegas involving the death of 41-year-old Hispanic female, Julia Garcia. Her body was discovered on November 15, 2014, by volunteers who were searching for another missing person. Julia's remains were found wrapped in plastic table covers and trash bags in a desert embankment near State Route 147 and Pabco Road. An autopsy later revealed that the cause of death was strangulation, and the case was ruled a homicide.
