Robert "Eric" Lindsey, a 41-year-old man from Baytown, Texas, tragically lost his life on January 23, 2025. Born on August 11, 1983, in Houston, Texas, he spent his early years in San Augustine before moving to Pasadena and South Houston. Eventually, he settled in Baytown in 2004, where he built a life for himself and his family. Lindsey was known for his larger-than-life personality, working as a crane operator and earning the nickname "Spoon" among his colleagues.
His sudden passing has left a deep void in the lives of his loved ones.
On the night of January 23, 2025, officers responded to a shooting incident at the Down on Main Street Bar, located in the 4900 block of North Main in Baytown. Upon arrival, they discovered 41-year-old Robert Lindsey suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Bystanders, along with Baytown Police Department officers and emergency personnel, attempted life-saving measures before Lindsey was transported to Baytown Methodist Hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Baytown Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene personnel swiftly identified two persons of interest who had fled the scene before officers arrived. A male suspect and a female companion were located at an apartment complex in the 1600 block of Garth and subsequently detained. Following a thorough investigation, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted murder charges against 32-year-old Njoroge Kuria of Baytown. The female suspect was released without charges. Lindsey’s family has been notified of the tragic incident, and the community continues to mourn his untimely death.
