Karen Alexander, a 62-year-old woman from Corpus Christi, Texas, tragically lost her life on February 3, 2025, in what authorities have classified as a murder-suicide. She was found deceased alongside her husband, 60-year-old David Alexander, inside their residence on Glazebrook Street. The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to a call at approximately 5:08 p.m. and discovered both individuals had suffered fatal gunshot wounds.
Investigators recovered a firearm at the scene and confirmed that David Alexander was the gunman.
Family members later provided insight into the couple’s final months, revealing that Karen Alexander had been battling cancer. She endured severe pain due to multiple tumors in her abdomen, which significantly impacted her daily life. Her daughter, Rusti Sikes, shared that Karen had expressed a desire to no longer continue living, citing her ongoing suffering. David Alexander, a former firefighter, had been working multiple jobs to support his wife’s medical expenses, but the couple faced increasing financial difficulties. According to Sikes, the emotional and financial strain became overwhelming, leading to the tragic event.
The murder-suicide occurred on the couple’s 35th wedding anniversary. Sikes described her parents’ relationship as deeply loving, stating that neither could bear to live without the other. She has since started a fundraiser to assist with funeral arrangements. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, though no additional suspects or arrests have been reported.
