On the evening of February 3, 2025, 33-year-old Adam Broomfield, an African American male, was fatally shot in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. in the 4500 block of Pershing Street. After the shooting, Broomfield was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound at a nearby gas station located at 7401 Cullen Boulevard. He was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators determined that Broomfield had been shot at the Pershing Street location before making his way to the gas station. Witnesses reported seeing a silver Dodge Ram pickup truck with Minnesota license plates fleeing the scene.
The Houston Police Department identified three individuals as persons of interest in connection with the shooting:
* Teddrick Hawkins, a 24-year-old Black male.
* Demetrius Jackson, a 19-year-old Black male.
* An unnamed 15-year-old Black male juvenile.
Surveillance photos of Hawkins and Jackson were released to the public in hopes of locating them for questioning. A fourth individual, initially considered a person of interest, is no longer being sought by authorities.
As of the latest updates, no arrests have been made in connection with the case. HPD continues to seek information from the public regarding the whereabouts of the identified persons of interest.
