Deffenia Lynch, a 58-year-old Black woman, tragically lost her life on February 27, 2025, in Hutto, Texas. Her death was part of a devastating murder-suicide that also claimed the life of her 41-year-old daughter, Iosha Shaw, another Black woman. The perpetrator, identified as 60-year-old Kerry Carter, reportedly called the police to confess that he had killed two people and intended to take his own life.
