In the late afternoon of February 20, 2025, a tragic discovery was made in Tacoma, Washington, shattering the city's sense of security. Wanda Davis, a 56-year-old Black / African American woman, was found deceased in a vehicle located in the 1200 block of St. Paul Avenue. Alongside her was another victim, 43-year-old Amber Bazan. The initial call to authorities came from a concerned business owner who reported a vehicle that had been loitering in the area for an extended period.
Upon
their arrival at approximately 2:30 p.m., Tacoma firefighters found both women unresponsive inside the vehicle and quickly alerted the police. The Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office later confirmed that both Wanda Davis and Amber Bazan had died from gunshot wounds to the head. Their deaths were officially ruled as homicides, launching a double homicide investigation by the Tacoma Police Department.
As of early June 2025, no arrests have been made in connection with the brutal slayings of the two women. Detectives are actively seeking assistance from the public to identify any person or persons who may have been involved in the deaths of Davis and Bazan. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest and the filing of charges in this ongoing and distressing case.
