Timothy Allen Jr., a 24-year-old man, was fatally shot in the early hours of April 25, 2025, at a Maverik gas station in North Spokane, Washington. Spokane Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 3:15 a.m. and discovered two victims in the parking lot. Allen Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene, while another individual was critically injured and transported to a hospital. The Spokane County Medical Examiner determined that Allen Jr.
died from gunshot wounds to the head and right foot, classifying his death as a homicide.
Authorities launched an investigation into the shooting, which was later linked to gang-related violence. On April 28, 2025, 18-year-old Quentin M.D. Hutchison surrendered to Major Crimes Unit detectives in connection with the incident. Hutchison was subsequently booked into Spokane County Jail and charged with second-degree murder and first-degree assault. Court documents revealed that the shooting stemmed from a confrontation between members of rival Native American gangs. Surveillance footage from the gas station showed two groups of individuals engaging in an argument before Hutchison allegedly pulled out a modified handgun and fired multiple rounds at Allen Jr. and another victim. The modification, known as a 'switch,' converted the firearm into a fully automatic weapon.
Investigators recovered over a dozen shell casings at the scene and noted that both Allen Jr. and the surviving victim had firearms nearby. Hutchison's bail was set at $1 million, and the case remains under investigation. Spokane Police Department officials have urged anyone with information to come forward as they continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
